Arimathea Featured in the Audio Book version of The Starter by Scott Sigler…

It has been some time since I last posted an update. I have a lot to share, so let me get down to it.

Arimathea‘s song “Sirens” is featured in the recently released audio book version of The Starter by New York Times best selling author Scott Sigler. This is a special treat for me, as I’m a huge fan of Scott’s writing and the Galactic Football League series. You can still buy “Sirens” and all off the songs from Arimathea’s EP, Tried By Fire, in an online music store near you. Here’s the direct link to the EP in the iTunes store:

If you want more information about Scott Sigler, you can check out his web site:

I’ve recently formed a new band with my friend Vince Consoli, one of the greatest guitarists I have ever known. Keep checking the site for more news on this.

Last month, I had an article featured in The Blind Post. Thanks to the positive reception my article received, Lori Motis, my mother and editor of The Blind Post, decided to give me a regular column. The first edition of my Blind Man Walking column can be found in the December issue. For more information about The Blind Post, visit:

That’s all for now. If I don’t post before the end of 2010, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Mediocrity Update – Everyone is Fallible

Back in August, I posted an update indicating that I was ready to step up my game. Well, since then, Arimathea went through a change in drummers, and shortly after, everything came to a screeching halt. I’m not going to get into specifics, but it hit me really hard, and the stress of the situation regarding Arimathea‘s downfall had a profoundly negative impact on my health. I got sick on October 17, and I still have a lingering cough and reduced energy.

I am currently in an upswing in mood and outlook, though my prayer time and Bible reading has been less consistent than I would like to admit. I am auditioning for a metal band this Sunday, and that has had a lot to do with my positive perspective.

The one thing that I regret through this entire situation, or at least the thing that I regret the most, is my allowing my personal conduct to be so significantly affected by my circumstances- completely the opposite of the warrior ethic.

I’ll post more soon, hopefully sooner than two months.

In His Service,

Joshua

The Time for Mediocrity Is Over!

My wife Andrea, and I, reunited after eighteen months of separation this past New Year’s. It was a joyous occasion for both of us. The woman I missed so much- who I never thought I would ever share my life with again, was now rejoining me in the adventure of life. I had my warrior princess by my side, and it was now up to me to lead us in a direction that would honor God and provide abundant life to all those we met.

I have stepped up my game for Arimathea, but there are a number of areas in which I have great room for improvement. I’ve gotten lazy and comfortable. Andrea and I have had a lot of free time together. That was very needed… and awesome! Unfortunately, I got fixated on play, and began living for the fun times, rather than the responsibilities that had been given to me. It’s time to refocus on what’s important.

To that end, I’ve decided to follow the lead of my martial arts instructor and pastor Soke Scot Conway. Anyone who is acquainted with him knows that he is a very public man. When he is struggling with or learning something, he shares the journey with his students and congregation. Like Soke Scot, I do not like telling people stories after it is all over because it is too easy to edit out what doesn’t work. I want people to learn from my example, both when I do something right, and when I fall short.

Andrea, my wife, is an amazing woman. She deserves a great man. Right now, I’m merely good and that only by the grace of God, and the journey He has led me on these past few years. Now, I share with you, my journey towards greatness- towards fulfilling my God given potential. The time for mediocrity is over!
