I often meet people who feel stuck. They feel that it is too late for them to have a better life. They have been beaten down so much or made so many mistakes that they believe it is impossible for things to get better. I understand. I have been there too. Obviously, each of us are individuals, and our specific situations are different. That said, there is only one difference between me and the people who still feel stuck.
I realized that there was nothing I could do to change the past. I couldn’t “undo” my mistakes. I could, however, learn from them, and decide to move forward, doing what little was within my power. I realized that even moving at a snail’s pace was better than standing still.
I still have struggles and challenges like anyone else. I am human after all. When the more carnal elements of my humanity are winning, and I find myself doing or thinking things that I know are in conflict with God’s design, I remember this. The place is here. The time is now. I can always begin my journey from here. I can always start now. I’m still alive. It isn’t too late.
Remember, it isn’t too late for you. The place is here. The time is now.
